Who we are.

Moody Teas is an independent tea company founded in Chicago in 2019. We sell organic loose-leaf tea at farmers markets, community events, and online — organized around nine mood categories that make finding the right cup intuitive and personal.

We started at the market with a folding table and a conviction that specialty tea didn’t have to be precious or expensive. Seven years later, we’re at 14+ markets, serving thousands of customers across Chicago, and building the infrastructure to grow sustainably without losing what makes us worth finding.

John Nelson

Co-Founder

John leads operations, technology, and product development across Moody Teas. He built the company’s digital infrastructure from the ground up — from the POS system at the market stall to the e-commerce platform and loyalty program — while running day-to-day operations across 14+ market locations.

Nora Eagan

Co-Founder

Nora leads brand, marketing, and community partnerships for Moody Teas. She shapes how Moody Teas shows up in the world — the voice, the visual identity, and the relationships that have made the brand a fixture at Chicago’s farmers markets since 2019.
